Event Code of Conduct

We value the participation of each member of our community and believe that all participants at AIchemy events are entitled to a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment, free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment. Participants in AIchemy events, including all attendees, speakers, organisers and volunteers, are therefore required to always adhere to this code of conduct.

Expected Behaviour

  • Respect and Courtesy: Treat all participants with respect and courtesy, regardless of their background, identity, or level of experience.
  • Inclusivity: Actively promote an inclusive environment by valuing everyone’s contribution equally and by welcoming diverse perspectives and encouraging participation from underrepresented groups.
  • Professionalism: Maintain professionalism in all interactions, both online and offline. This includes using appropriate language and refraining from any form of harassment.
  • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative atmosphere where ideas can be shared openly and constructively.

Unacceptable Behaviour

  • Harassment: Any form of harassment, including but not limited to verbal abuse, discriminatory remarks, or unwelcome physical contact, will not be tolerated.
  • Discrimination: Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited.
  • Disruptive Conduct: Disruptive behaviour that interferes with the event or the enjoyment of other participants is unacceptable.

Reporting and Enforcement

  • Reporting: If you experience or witness any unacceptable behaviour, please report it to the Alchemy Management Team or event organisers immediately. All reports will be handled with confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Consequences: Participants who are found to violate the code of conduct will be asked to leave the even immediately and a report of the incident sent to their host institution. A report of the incident may also be sent to their host institution.

We are committed to continuously improving our EDI practices. Feedback from event participants is encouraged and will be used to enhance future events. The AIchemy Management Team have all received EDI awareness training and will undertake wider training on specific EDI principles as necessary to ensure they can effectively support and enforce this code of conduct throughout the lifetime of the Hub.
